| Eyesight
is only one small part of vision. At
the Mind-Eye connection, Dr. Deborah
Zelinsky looks at an individual's dysfunctional
visual processing systems (eyesight,
visualization, depth perception and
aiming ability) as they may play a role
in poor reading comprehension or cause
perceptual difficulties after a head
injury. In addition, she measures a
person's awareness of and interaction
with their environment, as well as reflex
movements and head position. Sensory
integration is also evaluated: how important
as eye position, so most testing is
done outside of the traditional machines. |

Dysfunctional visual processing systems
and faulty sensory integration may
be the underlying cause of the symptomatic
behavior seen in children diagnosed
with ADD, ADHD, CAPD, PDD, or ODD.
It can also influence the diagnosis
of autism, allergies, and chemical
imbalances. Dr. Zelinsky's therapy
focuses on a visual rehabilitation
plan to aid in the coordination of
all of the body's systems to improve
vision and interactions with the world.
